The restful design perfectly complements the relaxing, therapeutic spa treatments available. Vomo Island Resort has a Senikai Spa. 'Senikai' is the Fijian word for flower and for centuries the 'Maramas' (ladies) of the villages in Fiji have used the fragrant and beautiful Fiji flowers to beautify and heal.

Senikai Spas use the 'Essence of Viti' products, a special range that uses the tropical essences of frangipani, coconut and papaya to rejuvenate your body, mind and soul. Vomo Island Resort's spa, directed by one of Australia's highly-qualified Beauty Therapists, is proud to use these high-quality products to support it's leading edge spa therapy techniques.

Spa Treatments

Vomo normally offers individual assessments prior to treatments, to ensure you receive the perfect spa solution for you. There are several different treatments for the face, many treatments for the body and additional options for honeymoon couples. They also offer complete relaxation packages lasting several days, for those seeking the ultimate tropical Fijian spa treatment - to pamper the body and relax the mind and soul.

Maravu Resort and Spa

Maravu Resort is located on Taveuni, in Fiji's northern island group. Taveuni is known as the "Garden Island of Fiji" and this tropical oasis setting forms the ideal location for a Fiji Resort and Spa. As you fly to Taveuni you will look down on the deep blue ocean and turquoise reefs, which will prepare you for your relaxing stay at Maravu Resort and Spa. Maravu means 'tranquil' in Fijian. Maravu resort has recently upgraded and expanded its Fijian bure and villa accommodation and has just opened it's new romantic Treehouse. It is an intimate resort, with fine dining, tropical landscaping, lots of free activities and makes an ideal Fiji honeymoon spa destination.

The Spa at Maravu Resort

Maravu was once a coconut plantation and is now one of Fiji's most popular holiday destinations. Maravu has a dedicated spa bure built in traditional Fijian style and surrounded by the tropical landscaped gardens. Treatments are also offered in the privacy of your own bure. Or maybe you would like to enjoy a massage by the pool, which is like an oasis in this tropical landscape.

Spa Treatments

Maravu offers Pure Fiji / Reniu products with a fully trained spa therapist to pamper you with a range of special spa treatments, including the Fiji Stone Body Therapy. This treatment, based on an ancient Fijian 'hot stone' ritual, combines a hydrating Coconut Sugar Body Glow followed by the placement of warm stones placed under and around the body to relieve your body of any tension. This is followed by a warm stone massage with Fijian coconut oil gently massaged into the skin and muscles for a full body massage. Honeymoon couples may enjoy Maravu's "Romancing the Islands" massage for two; where you can enjoy the privacy of a romantic massage suite made for two, each with your own therapist.

Mud Parties and Sacred Nuts
Spa Menus Vamp it Up with Creative New Treatments from Coast to Coast
by Sylvie Greil

Miami Mojito Scrub minus hang-over in Miami
With spas proliferating like blogs and the nation’s belly fat, there’s a need for bigger and better, nonpareil and ne plus ultra to draw new/more/different customers. From strange and sacred nuts you’ve never heard of to inner-child-pleasing mud parties, the following spas have come up with creative ways to beat the competition.

Kara Spa in Los Angeles invites you to give your thumbs and wrists a break from your Blackberry and indulge in the real (juicy) deal. The thirty-minute “Blackberry Balm Hand Massage” treatment combines stress- and strain-relieving acupressure techniques with soothing rocks and a special “Blackberry Balm” to undo the damage caused by being enslaved to your hand-held communication devices. Cost is $90.

The Sports Club/LA Miami at the Four Seasons Hotel Miami cashes in on the Mojito craze (still going strong) with its signature Miami Mojito Scrub and Massage, designed to stimulate circulation, detoxify the skin and open the sinuses. Afterward, head to the poolside open-air lounge for a Champagne-based bubbly mojito. Fifty- and eighty-minute versions are available for $125 and $185.

The Spa at The Westin Maui on Maui’s Kaanapali Beach has seen a significant rise in the number of men visiting the spa and has adjusted its menu accordingly. The Heavenly Golfer’s Massage addresses the issue of repetitive activity and includes a volcanic scrub. Cost is $130 for 50 minutes. There’s also a Volcanic Men’s Pedicure employing the power of volcanic clay.

Paint Party at the Well in Palm Springs

In Palm Springs, at The Well Spa at Miramonte Resort & Spa, you do it yourself. “More and more guests are looking for fun and different things to do … with their significant others… and with their best friends,” said Jennifer Di Francisco, the spa’s director. Thus they came up with the Pittura Festa painting party treatment, where you get to play with colorful, therapeutic mud such as red Sedona clay. Wash it down with a Swiss shower or a cocktail.

The Painting Party for Two is 45 minutes for $155 or 90 minutes for $325 includes massage).

Sun-worshippers in Las Vegas can baby their precious hides at Spa Mandalay via the Dilo Repair treatment. The Dilo nut hails from Fiji's scared Dilo trees, or "trees of a thousand virtues." Fiji nut oils, Aloe Vera and coconut oil are the other stars in this application created to heal the skin from sun exposure, inflammation and scarring. Twenty-five minutes for $75.

Also in Vegas, Stephanie Doud, the new Spa Director Stephanie Doud of Hibiscus Spa at the Westin Casuarina Las Vegas Hotel, Casino &Spa, has designed an Ice Cream Pedicure. It begins with a Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla Sugar Scrub exfoliation, followed with a delish marshmallow mask and moisturizing vanilla body icing and nail polish. Fifty minutes for $95.

Fiji Spa Fiji Spas of the Fiji Islands

The definition of a spa arises from a place with natural healing waters, such as mineral springs, hot springs and the like. Historically spas were often defined as a destination for those seeking cures for ailments, as the natural spa water was hailed for its therapeutic purposes. Most definitions seem to agree that a spa is where there is a natural water source - either for drinking or bathing - that has health-generating properties. As time went by, people came to appreciate the benefit of relaxation and viewed a spa as a place to rest, reflect, and regenerate the spirit.

In recent years, there has been a marked increase in the growth of resort spas around the world. These are not necessarily locations of naturally occurring mineral springs, though some are, but as places where one may luxuriate in a relaxing environment, enjoy a massage, and be pampered. From facials to body and skin treatments, aromatherapy, scrubs and wraps, manicures and pedicures, saunas and dip pools, the guest can be sure to find a tropical spa retreat is a place to luxuriate.
"If you have a really busy and stimulating stressful life, the only way that you can keep that going is through relaxation".
Liz Tucker

Spas in the Fiji Islands

And what better place than in the tropical Fiji islands, where one can be surrounded by the warmth of a light tropical breeze, the scent of tropical flowers, the relaxing sound of the ocean gently caressing a sandy beach. It is no wonder that today the Fiji Spa is becoming more and more popular. From the large international style hotels, to the island resorts, it is now quite easy to find a Fiji Spa destination. Fiji has many naturally occurring water sources, and the clear spring water is being bottled and marketed world-wide, such as the well-known ' Fiji Water '.

Fiji Spa Destinations for Honeymooners

Many of the Fiji Spa Resorts and Hotels offer special packages for couples who are either on their honeymoon or who are coming to Fiji for their wedding in this tropical paradise. Special facials and hair treatments for the big day, special Fiji Spa Product gift packs, or relaxing his and hers massages on the beach so that you may both enjoy a relaxing start to your new life together.
